How to Block Instagram on iPhone
An age rating cap and a Never Allow entry hide Instagram for free. The part that breaks is the passcode you set yourself.
Screen Time hides Instagram on iPhone for free by combining an app rating cap with a Never Allow website entry, in under two minutes. It stops working for most people the same way every self-set restriction does: the passcode is yours, so you can type it back in the moment you want the app back.
The free way: hiding Instagram with Screen Time
Open Settings, tap Screen Time, turn it on, choose This is My iPhone. Tap Content & Privacy Restrictions, switch it on. Tap Content Restrictions, then Apps, and set the age rating cap below 12+, which hides Instagram along with Snapchat, TikTok and X since all of them carry a higher rating.
Then tap Web Content, Limit Adult Websites, and add instagram.com under Never Allow to cover the browser version too. Set Installing Apps to Don't Allow so a fresh copy cannot come back from the App Store.
Why this stops working
Every part of the setup above works as intended. What breaks it is the same Screen Time passcode you just typed in yourself, which means you can undo any of it in a few taps once you decide you want back in.
- Deleting the app: your account and your habit are both still there, three days later.
- Screen Time's built-in app limit: Ignore Limit gives you 15 more minutes, then another 15 after that, indefinitely.
- Logging out instead of blocking: you already know your own password.
What changes with a passcode you never see
Get0 sets up the same rating cap and Never Allow entry, then holds the Screen Time passcode instead of you. We speak it once, you type what you hear without seeing the digits, and the countdown starts the moment you lock, for the length you pick: 1, 3, 7, 14 or 30 days. The passcode is emailed automatically when it hits zero.
It costs $7 a month, $77 a year, or $177 once, billed as Zero Software, with nothing installed on the phone.

Questions people actually ask
I need Instagram for work.
Then this is not the right lock. Get0 is a one-way door with a cool off, not a scheduler you can pause for work hours.
Does the age rating cap hide anything I still need?
It hides every app rated above the cap you set, not only Instagram. Check your other apps before choosing 12+ or lower.
Does Messenger or WhatsApp break too?
No. Apps rated 4+ stay available under a 12+ cap. Only apps above the cap get hidden.
Can I get the passcode early if I ask?
No. The clock starts the moment you lock and the passcode is emailed when it hits zero. There is no early release, not for support, not for an emergency.
